Sausage-Pepper Pizza

Here’s a pizza idea that adds colorful veggies to your meal.  I’ve used red and yellow peppers, but you can use whatever colors you want; just check the carb counts for your peppers if you change the colors and/or amounts.  Check your sausage, too; it can contain more carbs than you might think.

Sausage-Pepper Pizza

1 recipe Low Carb Chewy Pizza Crust
1/4 cup mayonnaise (no sugar added)
1/4 teaspoon onion salt
1/4 teaspoon dried whole thyme
1 cup mixed shredded cheeses
1 lb mild bulk Italian sausage
1 medium red pepper, chopped
1 medium yellow pepper, chopped
1 cup mixed shredded cheeses

Make crust, pat into pizza pan, and set aside for 10 minutes.

In the meantime, fry sausage in a medium skillet until cooked well, breaking into bite-sized and smaller pieces.  Drain grease and set aside.

When crust is ready, spread mayo evenly over it, then sprinkle with onion salt and thyme.  Sprinkle with 1 cup of cheese, then cooked sausage, then peppers, then remaining cup of cheese.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.  Let sit for a few minutes for crust to firm up.  Cut into 8 slices and enjoy.  Each slice contains about 4 net carbs (1 from crust, 3 from toppings).
