Okay, so I named this back in the day when I added potatoes and carrots. You can add carrots if your carb allowance allows for that, but I like it just as well without them and the potatoes are definitely a no-no. This is really easy and yummy! 8+d
12 oz package sausage links*
1/3 cup water
1 small head green cabbage
salt & pepper to taste
Brown sausage links in a large skillet. In the meantime, cut cabbage in thin slices off the core. Don’t break up the slices yet or they won’t fit in the skillet!
When the sausages are done, add the water and stir to make sure the sausages don’t stick to the bottom. Add cabbage slices and cover pan. Simmer for about 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is soft. As the cabbage gets softer and shrinks, you can separate the slices.
Add salt and pepper to taste when there is room to stir it into the cabbage.
This makes 4 servings with about 8 net carbs per serving.
* My sausage links contained 9 carbs per 12 oz package. If yours are different, adjust the carb count.
